What does it really take to take off?
You see, from my home balcony, mostly in the evenings, I enjoy the view of planes taking off from JKIA. I always picture the passengers relaxing as the plane reaches cruising altitude and the captain’s voice coming through the intercom, “Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight Number 985, nonstop from Nairobi to Amsterdam. The weather ahead is looking good and therefore we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax and enjoy your flight”. It is so assuring and the passengers are so sanguine that they will get to their destination safely.
I am not talking about planes here, am I? No. My point is what does it take to take off in this life’s journey and how do you get the picture of the end?
Deny it as much as you can but, if you want to get somewhere in this life, at one point you have to take off.
